One sister in our local cong. said she new she was of the anointed because she got a letter from the society saying she was.
It said; her faithful service as one of Jehovahs witnesses since 1935 proved she was of the heavenly class. She has partaken ever since.
What I wouldn't give to see that letter.

i don't believe dreams have any divine meaning, but i had the most vivid dream last night and wondered if others have had dreams of the second coming of christ.
from what i remember, i was at work and there was a huge trumpet blast and the sky split in two with a bright light.
christ and all the angels appeared and i fell to my knees.
I had a similar dream 3 nights ago. I was looking into the sky and it opened up like a rabbit hole. I could see faces on the other side peering down at us. When they noticed I was looking they winked at me. I tried to tell everyone around me to look up but they couldn't see anything. I was so excited but everyone around me thought I was crazy. I was not scared or anxious, just happy. I remember feeling like I knew something that everyone else was unable or afraid to see.
When I woke I thought maybe it is the other side trying to tell me I was on track. Although it is around the anniversary of my mothers death so maybe I just wanted something miraculous to happen.

I actually just read Uncle Toms Cabin for the first time ( in it's entirety) about a month ago.
I just kind of got over being upset about it.(the book) This article makes me livid. I can just imagine all those smug white men at the top reading this drivel; agreeing with it and passing on generations of bigotry and lies to their children.
I can't imagine how anyone who professes to be a Christian could have been read this kind of thing and think it came from god.

I agree with changeling. I think it is following a good verses evil meaning of the universe kind of theme. If the great evil(cloud) ever gets out off the island it is like the devil being unleashed on all of us. And it's up to the pure of heart to save the world. ( I know to obvious)
Although that could be my grand spiritual upbringing influencing my thoughts.

epo injections have been on the acceptable list for quite some time - the preparation contains a small amount of albumin.. .
a friend of mine tells me a letter was read in his congregation last week after the service meeting stating that these injections don't contain any blood fractions and are no longer a conscience matter.. .

My Mom used it when her blood count dropped so low she could hardly walk around. The Liaison Committee helped her get funding through a drug company for it. Although she did pay for her first week. ($1200). At first she had declined it thinking it had Human Albumin in it. She was informed by the committee that she was allowed to have it and then changed her mind. She died of blood loss 2 months later. Her blood count did not increase at all. She was bleeding internally and so it did no good. She will be dead one year tomorrow.

just wanted to start this to get a pulse on how many young jw's are exiting percentage wise recently in the witness organization.
in my family i have 8 young people aged 21 through 35 .
these are my son and two daughters and my older siblings 5 adult children.
6 siblings and in-laws faded or df'd
7 cousins non- attenders
about 50 in my local cong. in my own age group(22-35). df'd or faded that have left over the last 10 years

i've been a long-time reader of this site and have found it everything from informative to entertaining... but i'm now posting because i'm craving the ears (or eyes, i guess) of people who understand.. .
my mother was just last week diagnosed with an "ovarian type" cancer.
the oncologist discussed with her how far the cancer has already spread, and said she would operate immediately to remove as much of it as possible, but would not proceed if my mother resisted a transfusion as the risk of blood-loss will be too great.
Hi voodoo lady
This hits close to home for me. I just lost my mom after a five year struggle with ovarian cancer. She eventually had to quit getting surgery because she would not accept a transfusion and her blood was too low to operate without the option. This is a hard road when you don't agree with her choice.
Unfortunetly, as with my mom she probably won't want to change her mind.
Fortunatley the wts is pretty good at finding surgeons to operate without blood, and you might as well work with them.
